Teoman's Band of the Month - Finntroll

You've never heard nothing like that before: Finntroll, coming all the way from mighty Finland, is a polka-folk metal band. Their brand new album "Ur Jordens Djup" came out last month on the 6th March in Europe but it seems it hasn't come out in NA yet. But in any case the album is a complete success, just as good as their former "Nattfodd"!
Finntroll are:
Mathias 'Vreth' Lillmåns (Vocals)
Samuli 'Skrymer' Ponsimaa (Guitar)
Mikael 'Routa' Karlbom (Guitar)
Sami 'Tundra' Uusitalo (Bass)
Samu 'Beast Dominator' Ruotsalainen (Drums)
Henri 'Trollhorn' Sorvali (Keyboards)
I fucking love this band, their concept is really clever, and they are funny at the same time. Their vocals are mostly about trolls, myths and legends found in nordic folklore and some people who know them have associated them with the Orcs and Elves from the Warcraft video games (kinda n00bish but it fits the atmosphere). They're coming to France in May, right after I arrive, so I think I'll go see them, I have nothing to lose, cos they'll also be coming to Toronto next September, so I could always see them twice! Woohoo! A little thing about the band, they sing in Swedish cos they think it's more "trollish". Nothing wrong with that!
Anyway what can I say about them. You know how I feel when a member in a band is replaced or a new guy comes along, like a DJ, or a guitarist. Limp Bizkit failed hardcore when Les Borland had left the band. Last year the charismatic singer of the band, Tapio Wilska, got fired from the band for bad communication, yet the reason remains unrevealed. They found a new singer, who was thin and tall, the radical opposite of Wilska who was hairy, small and fat, and had curly hair. This time the singer is blond, has long but straight hair, and looks much cleaner. I wondered how he sounded. In the end when the new album came out with this singer on it, I just didn't figure any difference. They both sound excellent, although I think Vreth sounds more violent and loud than Wilska. Anyway.
Some people take Finntroll as a joke, kinda like techno, but Finntroll are really serious about themselves, and I respect them. They do a really good job, and their music really sounds good and entertaining. Even my girlfriend said it herself, she finds it amusing!
Booya-kah, hide your daughters, kegs of rhum and men of god, the wretched are upon Goreface69 this month!!!!!
